Rein Mets graduated from the State Art Institute in 1971 and became one of the most distinctive and compelling jewellery artists. The central symbol in his works is the human figure, which can express pain, joy, intoxication and love. That’s not only true of jewellery, but extends to wall panels as sculptural objects. Mets has many pieces in the museum’s collection yet even more significant is the value of his oeuvre in Estonian art history. The catalogue accompanies an exhibition of the same name.
